MICROSOFT x BRIAN ENO

MICROSOFT x BRIAN ENO

Working with Listen agency and Microsoft, Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers brought their award-winning generative music app, Bloom, into mixed reality using HoloLens. Blurring the lines between the physical and virtual realm, Bloom: Open Space emphasized a sense of wonder, calm, and community.

At a limited-engagement run in Amsterdam, users “bloomed” together – tapping the air around them to create elaborate patterns and unique melodies with simple gestures. Each user saw and heard not only her blooms, but those of the participants around her. Together, the group created an ever-changing generative music soundtrack, based on sounds designed by Brian Eno.

As consulting EP, I worked with Listen, Microsoft and Peter Chilvers to develop the Bloom: Open Space experience.

The project won a CLIO award for innovation in music marketing and generated +1.0B impressions across 80 publications.
